On Monday night, during his "It's All a Blur" tour show at Atlanta's State Farm Arena, Drake paid a heartfelt tribute to the late Migos rapper, Takeoff, born Kirsnick Khari Ball, marking nearly a year since Takeoff's tragic passing on November 1, 2022. Drake had postponed scheduled performances at the Apollo Theater back in November to mourn Takeoff's loss. He fondly reminisced about their early collaboration on the remix of Migos' debut single, "Versace," in 2013, which holds a special place in his heart as one of his first experiences in Atlanta.
Drake's association with Takeoff extended over the years, culminating in a joint tour in 2018, "Aubrey & the Three Migos." He also joined the Celebration of Life event for Takeoff at State Farm Arena on November 11, 2022.
In addition to this touching tribute, the show had another remarkable moment. Drake, feeling the love from the Atlanta crowd, expressed his gratitude and revealed that one of his favorite destinations in the world is the picturesque Turks & Caicos islands in the Bahamas. Upon spotting a sign from a newlywed couple in the audience, who had sacrificed their honeymoon to attend the show, Drake made a generous gesture, promising to send them to Turks & Caicos.
It all unfolded at State Farm Arena in Atlanta, creating an unforgettable night for both fans and the newlyweds.
