Black Hairstylist's Dream of Mobile Salon Crushed by Racist Neighbor: A Story of Hate and Resilience

At 21 years old, Angel Pittman considered expanding her hairstyling business by creating a mobile salon - an idea she believed had not yet been implemented in the United States. She hoped to offer her services to the homeless and incarcerated, but her dream was shattered when a white supremacist in Salisbury, North Carolina vandalized her three school buses and property.

Despite trying to seek help from law enforcement, Pittman received no assistance and was forced to abandon her plans and move back to Charlotte. Her experience was devastating, especially since the validations was racially motivated.

Pittman is now attempting to recover her losses and start anew by launching a fundraising event to purchase land in Charlotte. While she has successfully moved two of her buses, the third remains in Salisbury due to the severity of the vandalism.
